Samuel’s Musician Of The Week

This week the award goes to Elton John, and the feature (a hard choice considering the sheer number of great songs Elton has sung) is “I’m Still Standing”.

You could never know what it’s like
Your blood like winter freezes just like ice
And there’s a cold lonely light that shines from you
You’ll wind up like the wreck you hide behind that mask you use

And did you think this fool could never win
Well look at me, I’m coming back again
I got a taste of love in a simple way
And if you need to know while I’m still standing you just fade away

Don’t you know I’m still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I’m still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind

I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah
I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah

Once I never could hope to win
You starting down the road leaving me again
The threats you made were meant to cut me down
And if our love was just a circus you’d be a clown by now

No, I’m still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I’m still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind

I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah
I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah

Don’t you know that I’m still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I’m still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind

I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah
I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah
I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah
I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah
I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah
I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah

Stories From The Spam

I usually glance at my spam to see if the spam filter has picked up anything which is normal email, and often I see random text at the top of the email which is placed there to try and trick the spam filter into believing that the email is genuine. Occasionally these bits of random text are interesting and make strange stories, such as this one:

She had died a mostly unexpected death. Snowboarding in 1887 When she came in he heard her singing.

  6. In The Memo Field Of All Your Checks, Write “For Smuggling Diamonds”
  7. Finish All Your sentences with “In Accordance With The Prophecy.”
  8. Don’t use any punctuation
  9. As Often As Possible, Skip Rather Than Walk.
  10. Order a diet water with a serious face whenever you go out to eat.
  11. Specify That Your Drive-through Order Is “To Go.”
  12. Sing Along At The Opera.
  13. Go To A Poetry Recital And Ask Why The Poems Don’t Rhyme.
  14. Put Mosquito Netting Around Your Work Area And Play Tropical Sounds All Day.
  15. Have Your Co-workers Address You By Your Wrestling Name, Rock Bottom.
  16. When The Money Comes Out of The ATM, Scream “I Won! I Won!”

  18. And The Final Way To Keep A Healthy Level Of Insanity…….Send This E-mail To Someone To Make Them Smile!!

Growing older is mandatory, Growing up is optional, Laughing at yourself is therapeutic.
