It’s a perfectly legal coup for 2GB. 2UE reporter Laura Tunstall has jumped ship and is now the police reporter for 2GB, reporting on all the alleged matters that the alleged police were allegedly involved in, and making sure that the persons alleged to have been listening to a radio know what the alleged police allege was done by the alleged offenders. (Didn’t make sense? Neither do Police Media press releases). Numerous people, including another 2UE to 2GB convert James Goodwin, have filled in on this role since Brett Zarb left the station a while back.
Laura is another person I can add to the list of great reporters who I won’t be hearing again on 2CC any time soon. That being said, 2CC have recently been using 2GB news on an intermittent basis during their NRL coverage, which of course comes from 2GB.
2GB news can also be heard in the morning on 2KY in Canberra, 2KY is 1008 on the AM dial.

If I can get above two correct tips in the NRL this weekend I’ll be happy, and considering that I got seven right in the AFL last week, six or above would be good.
NRL Round 8
Broncos v Rabbitohs
Dragons v Panthers
Warriors v Sharks
Tigers v Storm
Eels v Roosters
Raiders v Sea Eagles
Bulldogs v Knights
Titans v Cowboys
AFL Round 6
Saints v Blues
Bombers v Hawks
Eagles v Bulldogs
Crows v Magpies
Kangaroos v Swans
Lions v Dockers
Demons v Power
Tigers v Cats

Back in March I reported that Cafe Copenhagen in Westfield Woden was closing for renovations at the behest of Westfield management.
I’m pleased to be able to report that it is now open again after an $83,000 renovation, however I’m not so pleased to report that I don’t like the result of the renovation.
I’ll add it to my list of articles which need photos and report back when I have the photos for you to compare the old and new Copenhagen for yourself.

People who know me would know that I can be quite a slow drinker of coffee from time to time, and that I enjoy cold coffee.
Today I set myself a new record for slowly drinking coffee. I made the coffee at 8:05 this morning and finished it at 1:25 this afternoon…a time of five hours and twenty minutes!

Hi Stuart,
Just about this idea of merging state and local government…theoretically a good idea, but it doesn't seem to work very well here in the ACT, and I'm not quite sure that you would really want people who can barely manage a train schedule put in charge of your garbage collection.

Today was Sarah Robinson’s (half of Breakfast with Chris and Sarah) last day at FM 104.7. The new breakfast show is called “The C Team” and is hosted by Scotty and Nige who have up until now been doing other shifts, and filling in on the breakfast show over Christmas.
I do find it interesting that somebody suspected of trying to defame an ex-2CC manager on this site has taken over one of the other weekday shifts. I’m not going to name them, but they know who they are.

It’s the first day of the month again, which means it’s time to pull an old post out of the vault and display it again in all its glory.
This month we are going all the way back to the 7th of July last year, and a rather disturbing dream I had.
Disturbing Dream
July 7th, 2006 at 02:18pm
I had a sleep when I got home from work yesterday, during which I had a very disturbing dream.
In the dream I was on late shift and finished work at 7pm, I left work and walked towards the bus stop (a five minute walk), about half way to the bus stop (near a car park) I noticed two people following me and catching up to me, as they got closer it became apparent that they had knives and their intentions were clear…the dream was not clear from there on but I know that I was attacked. The location of the attack was the footpath near the Dickson Woolworths carpark. You would expect a nightmare to end there wouldn’t you? But no, it kept going.
In the dream I went into a state of shock for the next few days, the next thing I remember is being at work three days later and just realising that I didn’t remember a thing about the last 72 hours, other people in the office were asking me if I was OK as I had been looking a bit vague.
The dream continued, this time I was in Belconnen at the bus interchange and I spotted the two attackers again walking towards me…I don’t know what happened from there as the dream changed again, this time I was walking somewhere in a shopping centre when I realised that I had left my radio on a bench, so I walked back and picked up my radio and walked off, a man at one of those charity stands grabbed me, detained me, and accused me of stealing the radio, he then called security who recognised me as the son of a shopping centre employee. My family then appeared and identified me and my radio. I have no recollection of being released, although I do recall that the bloke at the charity stand was one of my attackers, even though I didn’t recognise him as one of them at the time.
Finally, the dream ended.
Interestingly, I have two late shifts next week. Also, I have a clear recollection of the attackers, both were in their late teens/early 20s, both of medium build. One had dark hair and was about 180cm tall, he was wearing a dark t-shirt and dark pants. The other had light hair, about 170-175cm tall, wearing a dark jacket and dark pants or jeans.
It would be nice if I don’t have that dream again.

Then I know exactly where you can work to make it happen…Michels Patisserie in Weston Creek.
As I was walking past there at lunch time, one of the staff took a cup of coffee over to a customer’s table, that customer then, quite loudly I might add, enquired about the staff member’s marital status, and then proposed.
For some reason, this level of sanity seems to be quite common in Weston Creek as a previous encounter of mine proves.

Now that I’ve calmed down a bit, yes there is a heap of stuff that I have planned to write, but very little that I have actually written. I’m sorry about this but I don’t always have as much time to do things as I plan, and the last couple days have been like that.
I’m starting to think that I should just permanently change the byline of the site from “It’s just not normal” to “Delayed”.
At this stage it looks like I’ll have time to write quite a bit tonight.
