Eels v Warriors

AFL Round 9

Who’s holding the voodoo doll?

First it was the DVD player, now it’s the microwave, what appliance will be next to die in my house? And which one of you has a voodoo doll replica of my house? And why do you keep sticking pins in it?

On a slightly less important note, I gave up on tipping State of Origin matches a long time ago, so for this I will defer to a random number generator. 1 for New South Wales, 2 for Queensland.

The random number generator generated 1, if the person with the voodoo doll could see to a New South Wales victory it would be appreciated.

Update: It looks like the Voodoo Doll person stuck a pin in New South Wales at half time…this is fantastic, I can blame someone who might not even exist for the footy results! End Update

Samuel’s Footy Tips: Results

I’m starting to wonder whether I have any hope of finishing above 50% in the NRL, especially now that the number of correctly tipped AFL matches has reached the same level as the NRL despite having had 14 less matches to tip.

Samuel’s Footy Tips: Results

My target of more than two correct NRL tips was well and truly exceeded, however my target of at least six in the AFL wasn’t. At least the overall percentage is now above 50%.

Samuel’s Footy Tips

I’ve never quite understood the point of having a football match on ANZAC Day, I can see why, if ANZAC Day falls on a Thursday or Monday (or in the case of the NRL, Tuesday), they might want to extend the round by a day for the public holiday, but I don’t see the point in having a football match on ANZAC Day. None the less today is Wednesday, it’s also ANZAC Day, and the AFL and NRL in their infinite collective wisdom have decided that today would be a good day to start round 5, and as such, my footy tips get pushed forward as well.

NRL Round 7
Roosters v Dragons
Broncos v Storm
Bulldogs v Wests Tigers
Panthers v Raiders
Cowboys v Sea Eagles
Rabbitohs v Warriors
Titans v Eels
Knights v Sharks

AFL Round 5
Essendon v Collingwood
Port Adelaide v St Kilda
Richmond v West Coast
Carlton v Brisbane
Sydney v Melbourne
Hawthorn v Western Bulldogs
Geelong v Kangaroos
Fremantle v Adelaide

Information and Footy Tips

Some of you have been concerned enough to send me emails about my well-being, others have just been concerned, and the rest of you are wondering what I’m babbling about.

I have not been well this week, I was rather ill during Easter due to a combination of mild food poisoning and general ill health, and have been mildly better during the week. I have been well enough to work a midnight to dawn shift during which a minimal amount is required of me, and then sleep pretty much all day in an effort to feel a bit better and not put up with constant nagging headaches. The one upside that I can think of here is that I don’t have to use up any sick leave for this to work, and I can still feel somewhat useful and productive. On the other hand, you could call me insane.

This should explain why I haven’t posted anything here for about a week. Even now I have no intention of writing much, and probably won’t write much at all until next week. I will, however, make an effort to post some video excitement here tonight or tomorrow for your entertainment.

In the mean time, here are my footy tips for this weekend. Eventually I will get around to writing the results from last week.

NRL Round 5
Bulldogs V Sea Eagles
Dragons V Storm
Panthers V Eels
Rabbitohs V Knights
Raiders V Roosters
Titans V Broncos
Warriors V Cowboys
Tigers V Sharks

AFL Round 3
Magpies V Tigers
Blues V Bombers
Power V Crows
Saints V Bulldogs
Dockers V Eagles
Swans V Lions
Demons V Cats
Kangaroos V Hawks

As a footnote, I haven’t forgotten that on the 17th this blog will officially turn two years old, and you may be interested to know that on the same day, Talk Radio in Australia will be 40 years old.
