After some thought (maybe not enough of it) I have decided to bring back my notoriously dodgy footy tips this year. For me, 50% is a good result, so the usual disclaimer applies that if you follow my footy tips, it’s at your own risk.
So, NRL Round 1:

I made a couple predictions about the NRL Grand Final a couple weeks back, and in the spirit of seeing if I am able to maintain my 49% accuracy rating, it’s time to review them.
Firstly:
it’ll be Dogs V Broncos
Wrong! It was Storm V Eels.
Next (from same link):
there will be at least 46 points scored.
Wrong! The full time score was 23 to 16. 23 + 16 = 39
Then:
I reckon the Broncos will be premiers
Wrong! The Broncos didn’t make it to the grand final.
Finally (from the same link):
if it’s Eels V Storm [..] then it’ll be an Eels premiership
Wrong! The Storm defeated the Eels 23 to 16.
Four predictions. No correct predictions. 0% accuracy.
When I’m cold, I’m contributing to the ongoing increase of polar ice levels.

As I mentioned the other day, I am submitting all of my tips for the year in advance. Unfortunately I haven’t had time to go through and write down my tips for the entire year yet (I’m getting there, it is nearing completion), but that hardly matters as you can work out my tips for yourself.
In order to produce tips for the entire year I have put together a preference list for the NRL and AFL. Quite simply, the team I will tip in any match is the higher team on the preference list.
As anybody who has watched my tips for a while would probably have noticed, I am a bulldogs supporter in both codes, and I tip them every week regardless of any external factors, hence the reason they are at the top of the list.

I’m doing things a little bit differently this year, in that I’m not only trying to correctly tip more than 50% of the matches, I’m also trying to tip a positive points difference. Read on and I’m sure it will make sense.
