Extensive Wayne Mac Interview On 6PR This Sunday

February 22nd, 2006 at 12:35pm

Wayne Mac, author of Don’t Touch That Dial, will be on 6PR’s “The Way We Were” program this Sunday evening. Most interviews on that show last for a very long time, you may recall that they interviewed Wayne a while back and it lasted for quite some time.

Wayne will be on there this weekend at 10PM on Sunday (Perth time), which equates to 1am Monday (Canberra time) and 2PM Sunday (GMT).

6PR have a webstream on their website, and I’ll see about recording it for your enjoyment.

Incidentally, 2UE’s John Stanley (who once shared a house with Wayne here in Canberra) briefly interviewed Wayne a few weeks ago, I have the recording for you here.

Also, I interviewed Wayne in the January edition of Samuel’s Persiflage.

The banner for ‘Wayne Mac’s Don’t Touch That Dial’ has been up for a while.

I did not know John Stanley and Wayne shacked up for a while. Was this in Samuel’s Persiflage episode 2?

Samuel’s prolonged absence has got me kind of worried. One can only hope that he is rounding up all the Samuel clones with a butterfly net and putting them on display in a zoo for our viewing pleasure. Reminecent of the before mentioned Goodies episode.

Yes…..I’m starting to think he may have been hijacked by a hacker or something …….OR …. maybe he’s busy out there making a CLONE of himself (pardon the weak joke).

I notice nothing new has been published on “The Spin” for two days . —— Hmmmmm …… wonder what’s going on ?

  • 5. John B1_B5  |  February 23rd, 2006 at 11:03 am

I see that “popup” is back, and it’s more aggressive than ever ! — Doesn’t bother me of course…. I have a ‘superior’ popup blocker…….but those poor bastads that DON’T have one will really be copping it !

Hmmmm ….. I hope Samuel didn’t get chewed up by the popup ! —Strange how everything seems to have come to a grinding halt over the past 24 hours ….ever since the “Impersonator Incident” on MY site (just click on my name to see my site ) .

What happened is that somebody from Canberra tried to impersonate Samuel (on my site ) but he got ‘terminated’ within 5 minutes .
I see nothing is happening on “The Spin” site either !

Even Chuck Berry seems to have disappeared !!

    Hay, my comments aren’yt appearing!

Come on John keep it together. I think this is an experiment to see if we can be left to our own devices for a while.

If not those gremlins are back with a vengence.

I’m back, thanks for the concern everybody. I’m seeing no sign of the popups, and the notion of stale caches is now a bit silly considering the popup code has been gone for nearly a week.

Have you tried running AdAware or Spybot, John? I gather that those popups try to install malware when viewed in Internet Explorer.

  • 10. John B1_B5  |  February 24th, 2006 at 5:38 am

Well that must be why I see them and you don’t , because I’m using IE6.
I have a ‘superior’ popup blocker which also gets rid of malware (I won’t say what it is here, but it’s not “free” ).– You have to be careful of “Spybot” because it will work ok in the beginning, but after awhile, it sneakily starts acting as an “undercover agent” to allow ‘specific’ spyware onto your machine .

  • 11. Samuel  |  February 24th, 2006 at 10:29 am

That’s something I’ve never heard about Spybot, but I can think of an obvious example, its IE intergration requires constant manual updating by clicking a button whenever you update the malware definitions. I don’t think many people know that, it took me a while to figure out.

Anyway, I use a combination of Spybot and AdAware.

Feel free to give the program you use a plug John.

Ok…well I’m using AdAware PLUS (price $39.95) . It comes with “Ad -Watch” , which doesn’t come with free version of AdAware.
The Ad-Watch has various ‘adjustments’ built into it, and I have mine adjusted to block ALL tracking cookies, pop-ups, and other ‘nasties’ . It does an excellent job, and NOTHING gets past it .
I had Spybot on my computer once, and thought it was doing a good job, until I found out it was acting as a “double agent” and actually LETTING certain Malware onto my computer, so I booted it straight out into Cyberspace, and decided that I would go for the AdAware Plus — the $39.95 is a “once-off” so you don’t have to renew it every year . It was certainly money well spent !

Now there’s a fake Samuel on that horrible, horrible site Needs to be Glassed.

And John and Nattie get a mention as well:

If that was me as that lady, I would have went after him and jammed JohnB1_B5’s bicycle up the coward’s bottom. The whole bicycle, including my radio, tuned to 2CC.

I would laugh heartily and continue on my walk.

    And this:

I can definitely say that is not my Nattie.

She doesn’t like Asians, like any good John Laws listener.

All these fake Samuels are starting to make my head spin! Apparently there’s also a profile on Adult Match Maker, but I don’t go to those horrible sites ….

Dont people have better things to do than impersonate Sam, really its sad……….and if Sams’ walks with Nattie are made fun of ………at least its more constructive than the lame JEALOUS impersonators
