Pictures of 2UE
September 15th, 2005 at 07:30pm
With large thanks to TinMan, I am able to bring you some photos of the new 2UE studios. To fit them on the page they are thumbnailed, but clicking on them will take you to a larger version.
Now the newsroom, if you look closely at the TV in the top right of the picture you will notice The Price Is Right on it:
Then we have two pictures from the John Laws studio (naturally the golden microphone was locked away at the time, but the mixing desk’s are gold in colour):
Once again, a big thankyou to TinMan for taking these photos, and congratulations to 2UE, it looks like you did a fantastic job.
Samuel

Not you obviously tequilasunrise0002, some of the rest of us do though, including me, which is why I have the pictures on my site.
Fair enough TinMan, I didn’t think of that as The Price Is Right is shown at 5pm here rather than 5:30. This is due to Win Television having their own local news at 6pm, followed by Nine News at 6:30 and ACA at 7pm. Temptation, which is shown in Sydney at 7pm, is shown in Canberra at 5:30.

I’m almost with John B1_B5 on this one, the only time I ever listen to FM is when I am:
A) Listening to News Radio (Did it the other day to see the time difference between 2CC’s senate coverage and News Radio’s senate coverage
B) Scanning the dial (eg. Curious)
C) Know there is something I want to listen to
I’ll stick with 2CC and my occasional 2CA listening, I might check out QBN FM…But I’m a Canberran, call yourself CBR FM and I might be more interested!

I might just have to have a listen to that, mainly out of curiosity.
I will continue to maintain my bias, but I do admit that community radio is an important part of radio, even if I don’t listen to it regularly.

Are you one of the forceful window cleaners or do you ask first?
19. tequilasunrise0002 | September 16th, 2005 at 10:02 pm
no you gotta get in there and get the job done
20. Samuel | September 16th, 2005 at 10:16 pm
I suppose that traffic lights provide their own set of deadlines on that kind of work.
21. tequilasunrise0002 | September 17th, 2005 at 11:26 pm
do you get paid lots
22. Samuel | September 17th, 2005 at 11:51 pm
Not really, it’s all voluntary at the moment, but the member stations are growing, and when we have enough there will be money in it. AIR News is a recent startup and the bloke who runs it is just starting to see his intial losses return to him.
