Ducks in the Canberra White Pages 2CC’s Afternoon and Drive Show Promos

Happy 50th Birthday Mike Frame

May 21st, 2007 at 04:27am

Congratulations to 2CC’s Mike Frame who today is celebrating his 50th birthday.

One does have to wonder if Framey would like a watermelon cake? If so, that would explain why he was weighing a watermelon.

(Anybody want to guess where that photo came from?)

Another reason Mike Frame is celebrating today is that it is his first full day off work since Saturday May 5, as he has filled in for the holidaying Mike Welsh on 2CC’s drive show for the last two weeks whilst continuing to fulfil his weekend programming commitments for the station.

Framey deserves a break, and I’m sure that the break combined with his 50th birthday will make it a day to remember.

Happy Birthday Mike!

The photo was taken last year – at Woolworths I think.

You’re on the right track John, but no.

He was at the opening of a new SupaBarn store.

    I’ll give you a clue. I didn’t take the photo…in fact, it’s not actually a photo.

John, you obviously don’t pay much attention to the Canberra media.

    It was a ShopRight commercial.

Mike Frame would be disappointed in you.

Correct fathead, except it was Shoprite, not Shopright.

For those of you who have forgotten Shoprite, click here for a reminder.

So do I get a prize now? Perhaps a signed copy of Samuel’s Persiflage on CD?

  • 8. Samuel  |  May 22nd, 2007 at 12:03 pm

That sounds like a good prize. If you’re serious, send me an email and I’ll arrange to send it to you.

I reckon you should give it to John – he tried a lot harder than I did. But I would like to see a return to the original Persiflage music – it had a lot more character than what you’re using now.

    How about it?

The original Samuel’s Persiflage theme is now being used intermittently during the show, but not every show, and it’s not going to replace the current theme music.

And just in case you’re wondering, the main interview for the upcoming episode of Samuel’s Persiflage was recorded this morning, however we had multiple technical glitches and I am having to edit the interview together from multiple pieces. It’s still scheduled for this afternoon.

That’s disappointing you won’t use it permanently, the music was very original and catchy.

Any chance you could post the original theme on your blog?

  • 13. Samuel  |  May 22nd, 2007 at 12:46 pm

I thought so too, but it did tend to make people turn off before I even had a chance to speak.

And it has already been posted, see here.

In fact there are two condensed versions of it currently in the music library for Samuel’s Persiflage, and one of them is being used in Persiflage #14. I plan on adding the remixes to the library before the next episode.
