Inner North Blackout For 40 Minutes

August 30th, 2007 at 01:57pm

The suburbs of Reid, Ainslie, Braddon and some of Civic suffered a power failure from about 11:50am to 12:30pm today. Traffic lights on Ballumbir Street were also affected.

I spoke to a representative from ActewAGL about the blackout. He said that it was a “general blackout” but would not comment on the cause. I, sadly, was not in the affected area at the time, which was a pity as it was one of the few newsworthy things to happen around here for a while (and I haven’t been involved in a decent blackout for a while).
