I’m not the only one who was bothered by animals last night

An email to 2UE’s Jason Morrison
G’day Jason,
You and Gibbsy were kept up by dogs and cats eh? Well let me tell you, dogs and cats are nothing mate…just wait until you’ve been bothered by grasshoppers all night.
I’m over in Deniliquin at the moment where there seems to be a few too many grasshoppers. I had to chase about a dozen of them out of my hotel room because they were all jumping about, crashing in to things and chirping. There’s still two of them in here somewhere, but they’re being quiet so I’ll leave them alone, but if they bother me tonight, they’re getting the bug spray.
Hmmm, I wonder if the Greens would stop me from killing grasshoppers and other bugs if they had the power to make such rules? I’d better not show them the bug splatter on the front of my car.
Have a good day.
Regards,
Samuel Gordon-Stewart

I was in Deniliquin over the weekend as well Samuel – where you there for the Back-To celebrations?
Like yourself, we removed a large number of locusts from the area by means of our front grille, windscreen and the load we had strapped to our roof… rather gross unloading at the other end.

I missed the weekend festivities I’m afraid, as I misread the program guide when I made my bookings and by the time I realised, I couldn’t be bothered changing my plans as the back-to week was really only ever an excuse for me to get away for a while. Still, it is nice to be back in Deni and (nice might not be the word, please insert another) to do my bit to reduce the pest and bug population.

Thank you for relocating them back to the ‘green’ fields of home (The resident greenies of our beloved Capitol City).
You did scrape them off & deposit them at Bob’s office & home of course?. (or does he reside/hide in Melbourne?).
I’m sure he’d be exstatic (I like my kinda spelling) at having all those lovely friendly critters lying about.
Yes I did bring some back to Coffs Harbour with me.
They can stay on the Feroza until after it’s fixed.
