Samuel’s Musicians Of The Week
July 29th, 2007 at 06:04pm
This week the award goes to The Pretenders, and the feature song is Don’t Get Me Wrong.
Don’t get me wrong
If I’m looking kind of dazzled
I see neon lights
Whenever you walk byDon’t get me wrong
If you say hello and I take a ride
Upon a sea where the mystic moon
Is playing havoc with the tide
Don’t get me wrongDon’t get me wrong
If I’m acting so distracted
I’m thinking about the fireworks
That go off when you smileDon’t get me wrong
If I split like light refracted
I’m only off to wander
Across a moonlit mileOnce in awhile
Two people meet
Seemingly for no reason
They just pass on the street
Suddenly thunder
Showers everywhere
Who can explain the thunder and rain
But there’s something in the airDon’t get me wrong
If I come and go like fashion
I might be great tomorrow
But hopeless yesterdayDon’t get me wrong
If I fall in the mode of passion
It might be unbelievable
But lets not say so long
It might just be fantastic
Don’t get me wrong
Samuel

Who can explain the thunder and rain? I’d suggest a qualified meteorologist could explain the thunder and rain.

I always liked The Pretenders and thought most of their songs were great.
I’ll Stand By You from the early 90’s would have to rate as one of their best.
They also had-
Brass In Pocket
Back On The Chain Gang
Hym To Her
My Baby
I Got You Babe and Breakfast In Bed, both duets with UB40.

When will Rihanna get the coveted Musician of the Week award?

I’m still waiting for Samuel to add the lyrics for The Hampster Dance.
I want to sing along but can’t make out the words to it, please help Samuel.
Actually it was Roger Miller’s voice from the Disney Animated movie Robin Hood speeded up.
Gosh tecnology scares me when it’s used for evil.

Of course I am stirring, Sam. I am just curious to see if you like any top-40 music!

Things that appear in the top 40 charts these days don’t usually appeal to me. I did enjoy Schnappi a couple years ago though.

Some songs from today grab my ear but most have me reaching for the sick bag.
So many songs today are old classics redone or old classics stolen from.
Can’t wait for the hard rock version of The Seekers, Morningtown Ride.
