Pedestrian crossing countdown clock

The traffic-light controlled pedestrian crossings in Petaluma are quite impressive. Some talk to you, some count down the time you have remaining to cross the road, and others beep at you to indicate that your button press has been acknowledged.

This sign is counting down the remaining seconds I have to cross the road...6 seconds. Thankfully I had already crossed the road by this stage.
