Police barricade situation in Reid John Laws on ABC Local Radio this morning

An open message to the moron in the Black Mazda on the Barton Highway a couple hours ago

Ah, yes, of course I am going to yell at you if you, in an 80 zone, decide to not only move in to my lane right in front of me without indicating but also decide to stop suddenly in the process. That neither of us were hurt is a miracle. You are an idiot, please do not drive ever again.

While on the topic – to the mentally-challenged motorcyclist using the bicycle lane on the Barton Highway yesterday morning, since when was the last time a 250cc trail bike was a bicycle? You were in the bicycle lane turning right onto Northbourne Aveune and I was in the left car lane doing the same thing. You then had the temerity to toot me so you could get back in front of me from a position where you should never have been. You’re lucky all you got was the finger, you tool.

(Yes, I know the perpetrators are unlikely to read these, but it does make me feel better – and I’m sure Samuel too!)

I would also like to add a rant… though more general in nature.

    L is for Learner.

    L is for Love.

    L is for Lane.

    L is for Left.

So for the Love of God, if you are a Learner, please do your Learning in the LEFT LANE.

That’s an interesting one. For newer learners, I’d agree, and for learners on highways in New South Wales, I’d agree, but I have a very big problem with the laws as they stand in New South Wales. How is anybody supposed to learn to overtake or to handle highway conditions if they’re limited to 80km/h?

Samuel, I drive in both NSW and Victoria, being a border dweller. Highway conditions are always going to be tricky to learn, that being said, I rarely see an L plater actually sticking to the 80km limit on the freeways around here.
My gripe is with the L platers who drive through the main arterial roads of my towns in the left lane, backing up the flow of traffic, particularly at peak hour. They drive me batty insane!!
