The Ham Heist The odd things you see on the road

Terminator Four

December 5th, 2007 at 06:30am

Good morning Mike,

I have to admit that I am mildly disappointed to hear that Terminator Four is being produced, mainly because I was very disappointed that Terminator Three was produced.

I enjoyed the first two Terminator movies, I think they are fantastic, but that's where the story should have ended. Terminator Two wrapped up the story quite nicely, and apart from not being a particularly good movie in my opinion, the way the writers tried to make the story flow in to Terminator Three seemed just a bit strenuous. I was hoping that the producers would realise how silly the idea of making the third movie was and not bother to complete the story with a fourth movie.

And apart from that, how can you possibly create a Terminator movie without Arnold Schwarzenegger?

As far as I'm concerned there will only ever be two Terminator movies. The third and subsequent versions do not exist for me.

Regards,
Samuel Gordon-Stewart

Since when were you a movie critic?

Nobody is paying me to be a movie critic (although I’m open to offers) if that’s what you’re asking, but I do reserve the right to pass judgement on movies if I feel a need to do so.

Hi Samuel. My favourite movie is Terminator 1. I loved 2 except the actor playing John Conner annoyed the hell out of me. Again the film was ahead of its time.

I agree, T3 should not have been made. Again the actor playing Conner was not suited to the role and the director and script were so so.

However, word on the grape vine in that T4 will be a whole reinvention of the franchise. Sort of like the new Batman — and like the new Batman Christian Bale will be playing the role of John Conner.

If you are not familiar with him see his wiki page. He is a great actor. Probably the best we have around at the moment.

This link will show how committed he is to a role:

He lost the weight for The Machinist and six months later put on all that muscle for Batman Begins

No word on who will play the Terminator but if Bale is in it you can be guaranteed it will be far superior to T3.

I was really worried about Arnold’s legacy being spoilt, but let’s just wait and see.

    Great post Samuel!
