Stop Sign

January 5th, 2007 at 07:24am

Looks like we’re back on to the strange driving/police dreams, and this is another short one, very short in fact.

I go through a stop sign without stopping, the police are behind me, the lights start flashing and the siren starts wailing, I pull over and the dream ends.

I’m definitely going mad.

Did you have a dream about getting electrocuted in a Grace Brothers store yet ???

You were an unruly youngster, Samuel.

By the way, have you seen a doctor about these dreams? Are you on anti-depressants. I know they will often exacerbate constantly vivid dreams – they certainly did for me.

For those who weren’t listening to Kris McKenzie on 2CC yesterday afternoon, John (and probably Davky) is (are) referring to a story I told Kris where I wandered off when I was about two years old and managed to turn off the lights for half of a floor of the Civic Grace Brothers store (now Myer).

No Davky, I haven’t seen a docotr about them, most of these dreams happened a couple weeks ago when I was on a pseudoephedrine based medication…they were very vivid at that time.

I’m not on anti-depressants, although I know a few people who are.

It feels like everyone these days is on them. It’s sad, but I can understand. Been there, done that.

One does have to wonder if that is an indication of the way our society is heading, or just a “fad” in the medical community.

    I’m not on antidepressants. I don’t need them .

Bit stressed about the driving, Samuel?

  • 8. Samuel  |  January 5th, 2007 at 6:36 pm

No Jey, although I was feeling like I was from another planet over the couple days that I had all of these dreams, and my concentration level was very low at the time, so I might have been at the time.

You seem to have a rather fragile immune system Samuel !

  • 10. Samuel  |  January 5th, 2007 at 7:21 pm

It’s been that way of late unfortunately.

I take it you won’t be attending Summernats then Samuel ?

  • 12. Samuel  |  January 5th, 2007 at 7:42 pm

No I won’t be, it really doesn’t interest me. That being said, I would like to commend Chic Henry on the work he has done to curb the anti-social behaviour which a minority of Summernats attendees seem to get involved in, and I would especially like to commend him on the partnership he has formed with the AFP this year.

I was very critical of Chic and Summernats last year, but I think a lot of my concerns have been addressed. I suppose I owe a debt of gratitude to the people who blew my comments out of proprtion and context, without them I doubt my opinion on the matter would ever have been heard by those with the power to fix things!

I stopped at a green light when driving when I had that awful plague last month. Fortunately no one was directly behind me.

  • 14. Samuel  |  January 6th, 2007 at 11:17 am

Better that than running a red light Jey!

Bit stressed about the driving, Samuel?

Actually, now that I think about it, I’m absolutely paranoid about speed but I suppose that’s better than ignoring speed limits. It did get me waved straight through an RBT not that long ago…I think I was the only person on that road who wasn’t speeding!

Summernats – sometimes referred to as “summer gnats”.

Question – What do you do to a gnat ?

Answer – You SWAT it of course !

  • 16. Jey  |  January 7th, 2007 at 4:31 pm

Yes, certainly better than running a red light.
It’s important to be conscious of speed, as it is with all things on the road, but try not to drive too slow if conditions are ‘normal’.

  • 17. Samuel  |  January 7th, 2007 at 4:32 pm

In good conditions, I generally try to sit on, or just under, the speed limit.

  • 18. Jey  |  January 10th, 2007 at 12:44 pm

My Pop advised me to go 10 under just in case the police speed camera was out. I told him if I did that my partner would make me pull over and he’d get out and walk or insist on taking over the driving.
Either way it wouldn’t fly well.
