Wheel Of Fortune Theme Music

A big thank you to the Grundy employee who wishes to remain anonymous, who sent me a copy of the original theme music from Wheel Of Fortune during Rob Elliott’s reign as host [1] for Christmas. It’s even better than I remember it. It certainly loops a lot, but you don’t notice it when it’s in the background.

Click here for the theme music [2] (4.49MB MP3).

I would never have picked that as the ORIGINAL version.
It sounds a bit ‘jazzed up’ to me.
If this was a quiz I would have rated it as being “version 2”.

I suppose it depends on your definition of “original”. In this case I mean the original tape (or other recording medium) which contains the theme music from Rob Elliott’s stint as host of Wheel.

You are right that it is not the first version of the theme music, and a much less jazzed up “elevator music” theme was used prior to this one, mainly during John Burgess’ reign.

Ok. Yes, the John Burgess version was certainly more
‘downbeat’ than that one.
