Samuel’s Persiflage still set for September

Samuel, I ask thou again, as with, no doubt, the overwhelming amount of fan mail and letters you get, it may have slipped by simply by leaving it as the sixth comment on an old thread:

What would it take to immortalise my fame and be interviewed on Samuel’s Persiflage? Would I be required to drive to Cheteu de Gordon-Stewart, because I’d be more than willing? We could talk about scammers, or blogging.

Sorry Clayton, I’ve been intending on replying for the last few nights…I almost had time last night, but I didn’t get to bed until 4am…interview was at 2am, finished around 3pm (we started later than expected), and I was fiddling with the audio for a while afterwards.

Probably the best thing to do is send me an email outlining what you would like to talk about, I’m very interested in your idea of talking about scammers given your experiences with them.

You don’t need to come to Canberra…Skypre would be preferable (and would probably deliver near-studio quality), but telephone is fine. The interview I did last night utilised Skype…the quality was that good that I could have said that the guest was in the studio and had flown in from the US just to be on the show, and nobody would have known.

And yes, the identity of the guest is a secret for now, but I will give you a couple clues:

Also, to venture a guess as to who you interviewed, did you repay the favour (and relive the great exchange that you two had) with Wayne Mac? If you have interviewed him it would, no doubt, be the greatest Persiflage in the history of Persiflages.

Nope, Wayne only matches two of the clues. I would like to get him back in November when 2CA and 2GO celebrate their birthdays though.

I notice that Don’t Touch that Dial is still being adverstised on the top of this page. Are there still copies left? I thought that it would have been sold out. Is it on its second run?

I am all for the interview with Mr Northcutt about scammers.

How about an interview about SCANNERS ?

For example, can I still listen to the Canberra Police on an old Analogue VHF- UHF Scanner, or do I now need a digital scanner ?

Why are you so interested in evesdropping on the police John?

To the best of my knowledge, listening to police frequencies is illegal…although plenty of people seem to do it anyway (I suspect a certain Dennis of it).

To answer your question John, I’m not sure, but I think a VHF-UHF scanner would do the trick. That being said, I do not condone such activity, and you do so at your own risk.

All this talk of police scanners got me thinking, so I jesse-rigged my TV antenna radio dish to the Optus B1=B5 satellite in an attempt to see what was happening crime-wise around the Kairnberra area. All I could glean, before an electrical malfunction shorted out the whole house, was that the cops were on the lookout for a brown Kingswood which was last seen kerb-crawling near a kindergarten.

I may have got a crossed wire though, there was interference from Reid.

I loved the movie Scanners starring Michael Ironside and Directed by David Cronenberg.

Yes, I think a certain Theodore John “Ted” Kaczynski resided in a similar abode, also referred to as a “shack”.

Sam, to gain a greater insight into your own site’s comments, you need to wander down to you local Video Action (is that what it’s called in Kairnberra? Do you have Video Ezy?) and rent a movie called THE BIG LEBOWSKI.

I warn you sam, this movie has more swearing than Scarface, but, turn the sound down and the folks will never know.

It is by the Coen Brothers. They write movies and they are gods. In my opinion, this is their high water mark.
