Editorial Echoes: Thanks for the support

I would just like to take a moment to thank everyone who has been listening to and/or subscribing to Editorial Echoes through the first week for your support. I have been pleasantly surprised by the download statistics all week, and I’m very pleased to see Editorial Echoes currently ranked 17 in the Talk Radio category on iTunes. I have screenshots to prove it!

Once again thankyou, and there will be another episode of Editorial Echoes on Monday morning.
Whilst on the subject of podcasts, Samuel’s Persiflage will be behind schedule this month in that it will be released after the 10th-20th of the month window. This has been caused by interview delays, and I will endeavour to have it online for you ASAP.

Indeed, I’m very pleased, especially considering that Samuel’s Persiflage sits around 70th-80th. I suppose the daily “short and to the point” format works quite well for this kind of podcast.

Your graphic does look a little simplistic among the masses though.

There is a saying which probably applies to my graphics…something along the lines of “Keep it simple stupid”.
I’ve never bothered with Photoshop (I really despise the Adobe interface), although I am playing with GIMP a bit. I prefer simple graphics though.

Sam, I reckon it’s time you spiced things up around the place. The cable-laying piece was good, but maybe a little long. How about a ‘Samuel: The Man Behind The Man’ series, getting back to basics. The Step-O-Meter, the Coffee-Cup-O-Meter, the cafe reviews… there hasn’t been an update in ages.
I’m concerned that the real Sam is become part of the forest and not the tree. Editorial Echoes is a brilliant concept; the Persiflage must not be left to languish, but for mine, I’m still interested in the day-to-day activities of Sam. What time you awoke, and for what reason, how many spoons of coffee you ladled into your morning cup… that sort of thing.
Updates on Campbell Highschool and so on are all well and good, but I for one am beginning to sense the retreat of Samuel the Man — perhaps this is because of your increased audience.
In any case, I beg you to focus again once more onto the details of your life.
If I may be so forward and brash as to suggest what you do with your own blog. It’s just that I miss the old days…

I agree WTS … like you – every aspect of my life hinges on aspects of Samuels.
I desperately need a step-o-meter update, and photographs of Samuel’s AM radio from all angles were a gold mine of information which have enriched my life no end.
It has also been some time since Nattie made an appearance, and how is that “Nice garden in Reid” now the weather is changing?
Likewise, I haven’t been enticed in the culinary sense since the spatchcock pictures from Christmas … Samuel’s food shots are not just a feast for all senses, but also a recipe for life itself!
And I think the podcasts have adopted an all too serious editorial tone … what happed to the wacky funster stirring the spammers, and the memorable admonition that they “get big rocks and drop them on their heads”?
That said, the photo of the signs at the door of the building site were most informative, and were shades of the “old” Samuel we all grew to know and love.
Perhaps the profusion of cable laying has taken Samuel’s eye off the ball … he needs to get back to what he does best!
