Dream of Electrocution

I had a very odd dream the other night which took place in the foyer of my high school, which is extremely odd considering that the last time I was in that foyer was when I was paying them a visit in late 2004.
Anyway, in the dream I was standing in the foyer when a fire alarm started in the distance, I walked over to the fire alarm control panel where a light was slowly beginning to glow, the light got brighter and was accompanied by an electric hum which got louder and louder until there was a large bang and a bright white flash, which was accompanied by a feeling of electrocution.
The lights were out and the fire alarm was now beeping away loudly, meanwhile I was was unable to move my left leg which felt numb and looked burnt. I dragged myself into the principal’s office via the dorr next to the fire alarm control panel, and saw the postman delivering the mail to the front office.
These dreams seem to be getting stranger and more abstract.

Sam this dream looks to mean:
1. Alarm bells…something on your mind.
2. Alarm getting louder…..Your thinking more and more about it.
3. Electrocution……….The buzz and joy you will get if you do what is on your mind at the moment.
4. Left leg sore and burnt……….Only half of you wants to take the chance and do what your thinking about.
5. The mail being delivered to principal and not you……..You will watch someone else experience the joy that you could of had.
So Sam whatever you are thinking about go for it!!!!!!!, remember the Feline dreams previously are filling you with luck…..Go Sam.

Have you been taking anything to help you ‘get to sleep’ ?
The reason I ask is that ‘sleeping tablets’ ( including Benzodiazipams ) can cause extremely ‘vivid’ dreams .
I’ve been using “sleep assist” for years, and I’ve sorta got used to the vivid dreams , but I’d prefer not to have them !
Usually, the remanents of the dream have worn off by ‘smoko’ time (10am) ….. but very occassionally they go right up to the late afternoon or early evening .
If there is any retentivity after 10pm, I ‘put off’ going to bed until the early hours of the following morning .
When I do that, I tend to ‘escape’ the dreams altogether, but I don’t get the amount of sleep I would normally get .

KPP, your interpretation is much better than most of the dream interpretation websites who seem to think that electrocution in a dream means serious injury or even death.
John, I havn’t been taking sleeping tablets, I just seem to go through cycles of having vivid dreams and not having them. Often I remember them when something reminds me of it during the day, other times I remember it shortly after waking up the next morning. Either way I like to keep a note of them.

Ok, well that’s obviously not the cause .
Interesting that you are keeping a log of them – you just might be able to work out some sort of ‘pattern’ .
In MY case, I’d rather forget them as soon as possible ! haha .

I would keep your cholesterol in check Samuel. Defibrillators can give a nasty shock.

That sounds kinda like Campbell High School. A few years ago a electrician was taken to Canberra Hospital from electrical burns while servicing the alarm panel in the foyer of that school. You didn’t happen to go there did you Samuel?

Actually I did Token Blackman. 2000-2003 (For those who aren’t in the ACT, High School here is years 7-10 with College being 11 & 12).
I don’t recall hearing about an electrocuted electrician, but that place had enough power problems anyway. If I remember rightly there was something seriously wrong with the main distribution board at one stage, so much so that the power was constantly going out. The fire alarm wasn’t overly accurate either.
The elctrocution probably occured not long after I left as I do recall them having problems with the alarm control panel responding but not doing anything in my final year.

Until you have at least one approved comment they will all hit the moderation queue. After that they should appear straight away unless they are picked up by the moderation rules or I have blanket moderation turned on.
Comments in moderation will appear once I check them.
I probably should start an FAQ or something…although nobody ever reads them so why bother?

Maybe you could put a disclaimer at top of page? Followed by a link to a law website explaining in laymans terms the laws of defamation. But that’s all to serious.

Your point about people not reading FAQs was just proved correct. I have never read the fine print below.
