The emails and comments I’m receiving at the moment tend to have two common messages:
- Where is the New Day Australia Christmas Cruise post?
- I hope you are OK after the tree event.
For the first question, it’s coming ASAP, obviously it has been delayed due to unforseen events, but it is coming, more on that in a minute.
For the second question, yes, I’m fine, everyone is fine, thankyou for your concern. The roof and a couple loose tiles in the bathroom (the wall which the tree hit) will be mended during the week.
My order of posts which are coming is as follows:
- Christmas Cruise, this is half way to completion, the photos took a long time to thumbnail and upload though.
- Tree story, more photos, more text, and a bit of work.
- Sunday regulars (hopefully on Sunday), musician(s) of the week and Schnappi update
- A dream I had about the Schnappi update.
It’s all coming, but the last few days have been very hectic and I’m doing the best I can.

Glad to hear no-one was injured in the storms. Hope all gets fixed ASAP, man.
Some poor bloke in Curtin got killed when a tree fell on him.
Can anyone remember a storm like this happening before?

The closest thing I can remember was a mini tornado which knocked down a church in the inner north of Canberra sometime in the early 1990’s. Apparently Woden Valley suffered a flash flood in the 1970’s in which seven people were killed.

Poor Canberra not so many summers ago fires ravaged the western suburbs……….Destroying beautiful Mt Stromlo Observatory…….now wild storms……..
