Buy An ACTION Bus

According to a discussion over at Bus Australia [1], ACTION are attempting to sell some of their old fleet. The following Renault (Presumably PR100.2 with Ansair MK1 seating) are up for tender:
692, 693, 698, 750, 751, 757, 759, 761, 763, 764, 767, 769, 771, 772, 774, 775, 776, 778, 782

I’m not sure what the procedure is, you would probably need to ring ACTION [2] to find out, but the bidding ends at the end of the month. Unsold buses will be returned to service.

Now, not that I can aford one, or drive one for that matter, but I would personally love to own a particular bus in the 800 series.

I think I’ll give it a miss.

Could that have anything to do with the [3]

“Well MY dream last night was quite bizarre ( as dreams usually are ) . I dreamt I got on a Canberra bus ( perish the thought ) . The bus started moving, but instesd of speeding up, it slowed down, drove up over the gutter, and cut through a park, weaving between trees on the way . Then I woke up ( thank God ) .”

I’d forgotten about that ! ….. actually, I wouldn’t mind one of those M.A.N. buses . That’s – Maschinefabrik Augsburg Nuremburg …… I’m not sure whether they have any left though ….. if they do, I’m prepared to accept $100 to take it away for them !

No, the MAN buses have been sold, Bus Australia has details [4] and [5]

Ok …. quick quiz … in which town were the “Nuremberg Rallies” held ?
Was it (a) Augsburg ….. (b) Munich …… (c) Stuttgart ….. (d) Nuremberg ?

[6]

look at that is it related to you sam is it your new site?

#7 Comment By Samuel On November 28, 2005 @ 11:58 pm

No, it’s a TSSH enthusiast having a go at me (I believe it is from the people who brought us the now deleted stories of flying hibiscus and tea towels).

#8 Comment By Samuel On November 29, 2005 @ 12:00 am

John, I would be tempted to say “D”, but my gut says “C”. I could ask wikipedia but that would be cheating.

#9 Comment By John B1_B5 On November 29, 2005 @ 12:33 am

ha,ha ….no, it’s not a trick question …. the answer is in fact (d) . The Nuremberg Rallies were held by the Nazi party in Nuremberg in the 1930’s.

I thought you might be doing one of those Glenn Wheeler quizzes where he asks an obvious question with a not so obvious answer, gives you the answer and acts like you answered it (and if you’re lucky gives you a prize).

Yeah…….it’s kinda like the $100 question on “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” .

You needed Sydney and the North Pole…

Samuel, don’t worry about those OCD Samspan idiots and that website. A lot of TSSH people can’t stand them neither.

You’re actually getting a lot of admiration over at TSSH for the way you handle the digs at you. Even Caz says you are growing on her.

Next they’ll be printing tshirts with Samuel on them, Alfred E. Neuman style.

cunninglinguist is a hypocrite

#15 Comment By Samuel On November 29, 2005 @ 8:30 pm

Why Jingle?

#16 Comment By jingle On November 29, 2005 @ 9:25 pm

If i can recall corectly cunninglinguist was often commenting and joining in those Hibiscus cupcake tales, Now he changes tune and is against it.
Wonder what the fence he is sitting on is made of?

#17 Comment By Samuel On November 29, 2005 @ 9:43 pm

Looking through the archive of those comments in my email, it looks to me like he was making fun of them to some extent. Either that or he has changed his mind, and there is nothing wrong with that.

#18 Comment By jingle On November 29, 2005 @ 10:29 pm

Guess not .
So how is life Samuel, what is Canberras’ weather like today?

#19 Comment By Samuel On November 29, 2005 @ 11:48 pm

It’s been wet. I got rained on a few times today, but it was nice to get some rain. Actually you’ve just reminded about something I was going to write about.

#20 Comment By cunninglinguist On November 30, 2005 @ 12:10 pm

Jingle.

Samuel is correct there. I was having a bit of fun with the samspan twits, I mean flying hibiscus and teatowels? You’ve gotta laugh, that takes quite an imagination. And I have changed my mind re Samuel. He’s growing on me. But not like a hibiscus flower, thank goodness.

Yes i must say, with TSSH and other comments on Samuel, i have found him to handle himself well, with maturity.

#22 Comment By jingle On November 30, 2005 @ 9:34 pm

I think those hibiscus people were very witty and rather fiendly to you Sam .
I miss their comments

#23 Comment By Samuel On November 30, 2005 @ 9:42 pm

Hmmm, yes, accusing me of murder and going right off topic for no apparent reason was superbly friendly.

Interestingly, one of them used optusnet dialup, probably just a coincidence…

#24 Comment By jingle On November 30, 2005 @ 9:52 pm

Im sure no harm was meant!.

Why is optus dial-up interesting?

Do you enjoy comedy

Do you enjoy reality t.v?

#25 Comment By Samuel On November 30, 2005 @ 9:56 pm

Oh, I just remember someone else once who used optus dial-up and left some odd comments…somebody did that from Grapevine once too…doesn’t matter, just interested me.

I enjoy comedy, not so keen on reality TV though.

#26 Comment By jingle On November 30, 2005 @ 10:01 pm

Of course you enjoy comedy…..silly me you commented on Fasiers’ finale.
