With New South Wales Premier Nathan Rees facing the possibility of a leadership challenge, Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard has thrown in her two cents worth on Nathan’s performance as Premier:

Please Samuel don’t be so pretentious
Haven’t you received some sort of social security over the last few years
Nobody makes comments about you taking a tax payers holidays or tax payer subisdised radio jobs

No, actually I haven’t. I have been self-sufficient. The last time I received any form of social security payment was when I was attending CIT in 2006, and I was very happy to stop those payments when I went in to the workforce. I have not taken any form of social security since then.
