Power Failure in Mitchell and Kaleen Spam aimed at seedy real estate investment salespeople?

Well that’s karma for you…

May 29th, 2008 at 11:12am

For those of you who have been having trouble reaching this website since about 8:30 this morning, it would appear that karma caught up with me and decided that once the power was restored in Mitchell and Kaleen, I had to be punished for enjoying 2CC’s endeavours in the darkness of a power outage by having my hosting provider’s network go “wonky” (as Clive Robertson would most likely say).

Of course, the fact that I work there (I may have resigned but I’m still in my notice period) and was part of the team dealing with many customers who were also affected by the wonky network just made Dr. Karma so much happier.

For slightly more details of the wonky network, see http://status.aussiehq.com.au/item/2025.html

My site was out as well, Samuel, and I am happy with the speed it was restored given the severity of the fault. I was kept reasonably up to date by reading the Jumba forum but maybe you could suggest (before you leave) that service status info is made accessible from Jumba’s frontpage?

Also, while reading the forums I note that a lot of people have been so happy with the service you have personally provided that they’ve left a note to say so. Well done!

It’s been an interesting morning, that’s for sure.

I like the idea of the service status info on the homepage, the only problem I can see is that the company homepage is in Canberra, whilst the service status is in the US just in case we have an issue such as this and the local network becomes inaccessible.

Good idea none-the-less, and could be very helpful in the case of other less severe issues. I’ll suggest it.

I haven’t checked the Jumba forums much since last night, but I will do so now, thanks for letting me know.
