Can anybody identify the music please? Who wants my job?

Frank and Dale are back

May 28th, 2008 at 11:24am

I’m a tad late welcoming them back, but none-the-less, welcome back to the only animated online series (Samuel In Dolgnwot) excluded, that has really every interested me. Frank and Dale are back for a second series. A quick warning though, there is some coarse language so if you don’t want to hear coarse language, don’t follow the link.

By the way, do any of the 2UE (or associated network stations) listeners recognise one of the character voices? I’m not going to say any more than that right now…maybe next week if nobody gets it earlier.

On the topic of voices, I heard on the grapevine that the voice of “Dolly”on 2UE is in fact the voice of Paul B. Kidd.

It just occurred to me that Mike Welsh could introduce a “dolly” type of character on the Drive Show to liven it up a bit, and perhaps cut out some of those boring interviews.

Naturally Mike Welsh would do the “dolly” voice, haha.

Dolly is probably the worst kept secret at 2UE (although I’m not sure that they even try to keep it a secret…it would be a bit hard with Dolly intermittently talking like Paul and vice versa).

Neither Paul nor Dolly are in Frank and Dale though.

As for Mike Welsh, he does a good John Kerr impersonation.

“….does a good John Kerr impersonation” …. Hmmmm, I’d like to hear that.

John Kerr has a good voice for radio, but he seems to have some ‘inhibitions’ when talking to callers.

I was listening to him last week in the early hours of the morning, and noticed that there were periods of silence when some of the callers got to the end of a sentence. It was as though John was thinking about what he should say next.
Not exactly what you’d call a smooth-flowing conversation.

Oh well, at least he doesn’t interrupt when the callers are speaking, and that’s certainly a big plus !
