Oh for goodness sake, how many more times do I have to say it? These reviews are my opinion. I'm not pretending to be impartial, these reviews are my impression of the stations.

I suppose it is a bit like a movie review. Movie reviewers provide their opinions of movies, and therefore they often disagree with each other. If they were to review the films based on how well they target the audience they are trying to attract, then the reviews would, for the most part, be the same across the board.

In the case you mentioned (JJJ playing songs I don't like and getting a zero as a result), if a station plays a song I don't like then of course it will be marked down for it...I'm not doing this to examine what somebody else might think of the song...I couldn't care less what somebody else thinks of the song, I am the one listening, and if I don't like the song, then the station will get marked down for it.

Jess, I appreciate your input, but I have a suggestion for you. If you don't like the way I produce my reviews, there is nothing stopping you from writing your own reviews.

As for the ratings, I was ticking the boxes in the second Canberra ratings last year. It was an interesting experience.

Samuel... I appreciate your efforts with these reviews - but it is very difficult for you to offer any credibility with these, as you are clearly so biased it's not funny.

It's very clear that you don't appreciate the music of Triple J, but very many do - this doesn't mean it is a bad station and should get a zero because you don't like the song.

Obviously you appreciate stations like 2CC and 2CA - and that's fine, but if you're going to review stations like these in survey and publish your 'findings' publicly, why not be a little more impartial and take a step back from your personal preferences.

I think you should think about these stations as a whole -
-Who are their audience?
-Are they targetting this audience well?
-Are they doing well technically (production, panel operation etc)
-How can they do a better job for their listeners as a whole (not just you)

Unless you're one of the people ticking the boxes in the survey for these stations - your personal opinion isn't really important to any of these stations.

So, for you to get more out of this process you've set up for yourself, you should think about the stations in this way.
