I would actually like to see the day replaced with a night for community fireworks. i.e. the ACT Govt could sponsor a series of local fireworks events. Local schools could hold fundraiser nights, families could enjoy the fireworks and they would not be being sold to irresponsible hoodlums. It would also help with the lacking of a sense of community in Canberra. I think it is unfortunately necessary for a complete ban.
