Dancing Power Lines in Ainslie Samuel’s Persiflage #4

The Proof Is In The Pudding

April 13th, 2006 at 01:23pm

During the latter part of my time at The RiotACT, I started to suspect that Johnboy (one of the many admins) didn’t like me. I have previously documented the reasons why I left RiotACT, and I won’t go over that fiasco again, but it was interesting that, despite clear evidence to the contrary, Johnboy denied that he didn’t like me.

I made the point as clearly as I could after he lambasted me for agreeing with him, one of the many things I said was:

The pattern I have seen lately is that you have had this somewhat blanket “Anti Samuel” view on everything…I’m not sure when this started or why, but I would be interested to know what I did that has turned you against me.

Johnboy replied with:

I don’t have an “anti-samuel” view. I despise the rhetorical style of commercial talkback radio. It is inherenetly dishonest and as long as you use it I’m going to have problems with it.

I wasn’t going to bother raising the point again, as the evidence was clearly favouring my point, but it is interesting to note that Johnboy has stopped denying that he doesn’t like me. In fact only a short time ago he posted the following as a comment on a Spin Starts Here article about my Year In Review posts.

sam would be OK if he was just in his bubble. But he’s not.

He’s writing letters to the efitor, he’s always calling up talkback radio, and he’s pushing for a staggeringly cruel and intolerant society forced to be just like him.

In Sam’s world Eddie and Lawsie are to be respected and disrespect is terminated.

That’s just one reason why he needs to be held up to constant ridicule.

I have no problem with Johnboy disliking me, and I take no satisfaction from it, in fact it is quite disappointing considering that we were once online friends. I’m just glad that he has finally admitted it, and stopped the pointless denials.

The really good thing here is that, as far as I can see, this closes the last open section of the “Samuel & RiotACT” chapter. I’m glad that I can finally put it all behind me, knowing exactly where everyone stood on the matter.

I left “Riot Act” long before you did Samuel because I didn’t find it all that interesting …… Also, there seemed to be a large number of ‘sycophants’ on that site .

As for Johnboy… he’s certainly made it clear where he stands ….. and I really can’t understand that, because you’re not making personal attacks on HIM !

I thought about leaving a few times before I made it official, it would appear that they are staying on topic a bit more these days, especially now that they don’t have me there to have off topic discussions about.

I don’t begrudge them of their space on the Internet, and I still read some of it from time to time, just like I tend to read everything that links to this site (I enjoy seeing why people have come here), but I certainly have no intention of returning to RiotACT as a commenter.

*ouch* johnboy. It sounds like he’s worried that the world is going to cross over to your dark side Sam.

  • 4. Samuel  |  April 13th, 2006 at 2:58 pm

Yes it was a bit over the top wasn’t it?

  • 5. Aunty_Jack  |  April 13th, 2006 at 3:24 pm

I think you should drop a big rock on his head Samuel.

It takes a REAL man to admit that you dislike someone.

  • 6. Aunty_Jack  |  April 13th, 2006 at 3:27 pm

I think he needs his head garnished Samuel.

  • 7. heatseeker  |  April 13th, 2006 at 6:20 pm

I can’t see any evidence in that post where he states he does not like you Samuel, sure, he says you “need to be held up to constant ridicule”, but that doesn’t imply dislike, perhaps he’s expressing you need to do some time in teh school of hard knocks …

  • 8. Samuel  |  April 13th, 2006 at 6:26 pm

I think it is pretty clearly implied.

  • 9. John B1_B5  |  April 13th, 2006 at 8:09 pm

Speaking of “The Spin …” , I see somebody calling himself “Gyro_Gearloose” has given them all a ‘serve’ over there —
Gyro seems to think that “Caz” is actually a man . lol .

  • 10. Chuck A. Spear  |  April 13th, 2006 at 8:15 pm

No need to get your knickers in a knot Samuel. I think you are taking his comment personally. I don’t think he dislikes you, I think he dislikes where you are coming from. It happens somtimes with peers. It happends with beers too, if you have too many of them.

  • 11. Chuck A. Spear  |  April 13th, 2006 at 8:25 pm

    Correction – happens.

  • 12. cunninglinguist  |  April 13th, 2006 at 9:00 pm

John B1_B5, are you “Gyro Gearloose”? He’s quite a feisty one.

  • 13. John B1_B5  |  April 13th, 2006 at 9:29 pm

No I’m not him cunning, but I notice there is a “Gyro_Gearloose” in the “Members Pending” section of ‘Australia- The Land Down Under’ .

    Hi Sam,

I didn’t know about your blog until I joined up at the TSSH chatroom only to find that it’s a group wank site with only a few inarticulate youngsters as regulars who dislike dissent or a differing opinion. A group who sit around worshipping real people.

I got banned within a few hours for having the hide to question one of them. The vacuous attack dogs bared their teeth, slobbered a lot, delivered up a few ill conceived and juvenile expletives and then went back to clapping each other on their plumply quivering backs for a job well done in seeing off a possible interruption to their comfortable soap opera induced stupor.

They are a strange collection of cowardly mongrels, possibly they all met at a weight watchers convention, got together to share jokes and taunts at people they know to be better than them and lie like buggery about their accomplishments.

Keep up the good work Samuel. You seem to have got under their skin too. It doesn’t take much. Does it? Scared people are easy to scare . . . .

    Cheers mate.

Gyro, I just re-read your story (I only glanced at it this morning when it landed in my inbox) and it sounds very similar to what happened when I was their subject of ridicule in November. Our opinion of them seems similar too. Nice to have you on board.

  • 16. Gyro Gearloose  |  April 15th, 2006 at 12:14 am

    Why thank you Samuel.

I found the TSSH site linked from a political blog. Having a strong interest in politics and current affairs and having not been there before I signed up and posed a question to the writer of a clumsy article about Baby Boomers – a young kid called The Hick. He seemed consumed by envy at a group of people (quite possibly a couple of whom would be his own antecedents) whose sole misfortune was being born during an arbitrary period.

Now the only reason anyone writes such a spiteful attack on a whole generation is because of envy – let’s face it if you didn’t want what they had why would you care what they had? I have no onvy of others.

But clearly he does care – and so too does his motley collection of socially inept wannabes. To respond to a question with a string of invective merely demonstrates a lack of social skill and a hopeless inability to utilise a perfectly good language to construct a rational response.

So despite the self congratulatory wank-speak there it’s easy to deduce the stain of humanity which gathers at the site is probably a bunch of welfare bludgers, without money, skill or knowledge, braying ineffectually at those who they recognise as being their social and intellectual superiors.

It’s also startling to discover they are obsessed with pulp TV shows which normally appeal to pimply youths and pre-pubescent girls so either they are much younger than the impression they try to give (one kid was lying about his income while he probably lives in an orphanage or something poor kid), or they are slow developers – probably all handicapped or retarded in some way?

Good luck with your site mate and thanks for the welcome.

I’ll drop in from time to time to say g’day. 🙂

  • 17. Gyro Gearloose  |  April 15th, 2006 at 12:16 am

(Nor do I have any envy – don’t you hate typos?) 🙂

  • 18. Samuel  |  April 15th, 2006 at 12:23 am

I read the whole debacle on TSSH, and I have to agree with you Gyro.

Anyway, you’ve joined this site at just the right moment as I’m currently running a Year In Review series as part of the birthday celebrations of this blog.

Have a good Easter Gyro, I look forward to your future contributions.

  • 19. John B1_B5  |  April 15th, 2006 at 8:08 am

I too had a good read of the whole debacle, and it seems to me “The Hack” is inciting hatred towards “baby boomers” .

I could be wrong, but I thought inciting hatred towards a particular group is now a (Federal ) crime .

  • 20. Chuck A. Spear  |  April 15th, 2006 at 1:11 pm

Welcome Gyro. Glad to have you on board.

  • 21. Gyro Gearloose  |  April 16th, 2006 at 12:47 am

    You’re very kind Samuel.

I can’t see me popping in too often mate, I’m not much into blogs nor chatrooms like TSSH. I only found myself there after seeing a mention of it on a political blog. I didn’t realise it was just an adolescent chatroom commenting on kid’s soap operas and women babbling about babies at the time I joined.

A quick Google and I discovered that it’s run by a couple of dole bludgers who are busting to be in the entertainment industry but they are considered to be too stupid by the professionals so they snipe from the sidelines. I find that a bit sad that they feel such envy of real writers. There are lots of jobs for people with no skills. They could work at Coles or something surely?

I found out complete details about them all and it makes tragic reading. The photos of them are particularly gruesome. I don’t understand why Caz dresses as a woman though. I’ve never seen a more grotesque transvestite.

Keep up the good work Samuel, they seem highly envious of you so they must consider you to be successful seeing as that is who they all spit venom at.

    Cheers mate.

  • 22. heatseeker  |  April 16th, 2006 at 8:16 am

Samuel, have you ever thought of setting up another site “People Who Need Big Rocks Dropped on their Heads” (PWNBRDOTH)?

It has a Dolgnwot ring to it, and I think that horrible evil loonie woman would be a prime candidate for the full five rocks!

Followed by Johnboy, and all the fake Samuels, and Summernats enthusiasts..

  • 23. Samuel  |  April 16th, 2006 at 9:54 am

PWNBRDOTH does sound like Dolgnwot’s sister city doesn’t it…but no, I think we more or less decided to stop making reference to rocks dropping on people’s heads after an interview in Samuel’s Persiflage #4. I’m not going to stop you talking about it, but I won’t be making reference to it.

  • 24. cunninglinguist  |  April 16th, 2006 at 10:22 am

Be careful of Gyro there Samuel, he’s been in trouble with Queensland police. He’s a real nutter. Samuel, you’re naive and not very worldly, do not give Gyro your details, or he’ll stalk you like he did to some young women.

  • 25. Samuel  |  April 16th, 2006 at 10:54 am

There’s something I doubt…but thanks for the advice anyway cunninglinguist, it tends to be my standard policy.

  • 26. cunninglinguist  |  April 16th, 2006 at 11:51 am

If you’d prefer not to believe it, Samuel, that is fine but I am glad that you are being careful

  • 27. John B1_B5  |  April 16th, 2006 at 4:09 pm

According to a posting on “The Spin ….. ” Gyro’s real name is (Removed based on legal advice 27/April/2006 — Samuel).

I don’t know whether he is the same “Gyro_Gearloose” who joined “Australia – The Land Down Under” yestedday ……..

  • 28. Samuel  |  April 16th, 2006 at 4:24 pm

He probably is, I wouldn’t imagine that many people use the name “Gyro_Gearloose”.

  • 29. John B1_B5  |  April 18th, 2006 at 6:28 pm

Now we have a “Gyro_the_Goose” on the Pending list .
