Persiflage Update

The moment you’ve all been waiting for…Samuel’s Persiflage Episode 4…will be online later today, possibly tonight, just in time for Easter.

I can tell you that it will contain a new feature which will appear a few times during the episode.

Hopefully this will mean a return to monthly episodes, I certainly hope it does.

Samuel

Could John B1_B5’s audio report be the “new feature which will appear a few times during the episode”?

Just finishing up encoding at the moment, the upload is next, along with the updates to the RSS feed, the sidebar, the Persiflage page, and the new Persiflage post.

Ok Samuel ….hurry …. I’d like to listen to the Persiflage before I retire for the night .

I’m getting there as fast as I can…I had a minor hiccup with a bit of missing audio and had to start encoding again. I’ll post the direct link to the files here as soon as they start being uploaded.

It might be worthwhile pointing out that this month’s episode has a duration of 1 hour, 9 minutes and 15 seconds.

Hmmm, looks like the files aren’t publically accessable until the upload completes. The uploads are under way anyway.

1 hour 9 minutes ? No problem …. So long as I get to bed by 1am ………..

#13 Comment By Samuel On April 13, 2006 @ 10:22 pm

That shouldn’t be a problem John.

Looks like we have about ten minutes until the low bitrate version is available for download, and twenty minutes for the high bitrate version.

#15 Comment By Samuel On April 13, 2006 @ 10:48 pm

Low bitrate version is available at [1]

Hmmmm …… the John Kerr interview is done over the phone is it ?

#18 Comment By John B1_B5 On April 13, 2006 @ 11:08 pm

A 50 Kilowatt transmitter onboard a Pirate Radio ship ? Wow …. that’s a lot of power !

#19 Comment By Samuel On April 13, 2006 @ 11:11 pm

Yes it was John…I could hardly expect John Kerr to travel to Canberra for an interview, and I’m not likely to travel to Sydney and back just for an interview either.

I do hope that I can interview him in person one day…if we do that then we will probably cover his whole career and not just one part of it. That’s a long way off yet though!

Oh, and the regular high bitrate version is also online [2]

Mmmmmm, what dies this “encoding” entail? Does this imply some sinister hidden message is being inserted?

#25 Comment By Samuel On April 16, 2006 @ 9:56 am

Encoding as in MP3 is a compressed audio format, and to create an MP3 file you “encode” it. Technically the MP3 file needs to be “decoded” by the device playing it.
