Persiflage Correction

I have a minor correction to announce in regards to Samuel’s Persiflage #4 [1].

During the interview with Mrs. Gordon-Stewart, the town of Echuca came up as a topic, and I looked at the map behind me in the studio to find the exact location. Here is a transcript of my findings.

I just found Echuca, it’s on the Murray River, it’s a bit North of the New South Wales/Victoria border.

I’ve had a few emails about this, and have since revisited the map. Unfortunately the map has very similar markings for state borders and railway lines, the map is also a tad faded. I was looking at the railway line and not the state line by accident, and would like to point out that Echuca is in Victoria. Wikipedia has some interesting information about Echuca [2].

I will also issue a retraction in the listener feedback segment of Samuel’s Persiflage #5.

I’d watch it Sammy .. them Echuca folk are a feisty lot, and lesser transgressions have seen people’s houses burnt down … I only mention this out of concern since that “pompous evil looney women” publicised your address. I’d be putting Nattie on guard duty for the next week!

I’d be more worried about the pensioners from Moama. The last time they got mixed up with Echuca, the pensioners ferry jacked some paddle steamers and rolled on down the main street of Echuca, mowing everyone down.

Some say it was because they had sour grapes from losing the lawn bowles, however, the fact was that Neville from Radio EMFM 104.7 said Echuca was north of the River.

I wonder if the ‘pompous evil loony woman’ owns a paddle steamer?

I would like to add how much I enjoyed Samuel’s Persiflage #4. Samuel has really hit his stride. I would highly recommend any readers to download episode #4 or subscribe via iTunes.
